New Delhi: With an aim to protect, enhance and reinstate India’s Green cover by planting 10 crore trees across the nation, Swachh Parayavran Trust has launched Mission Green India today at Constitution Club of India. Shri Manjeet Singh, Managing Trustee also made an announcement of Vishwa Yagya Mahotsav, world’s first and largest 1,08,000 (one lakh eight thousand) Kundi Yagya to be organized in February 2020 after completing green yatra movement.
The event was attended by many dignitaries, including Syed Zafar Islam, Spokesperson BJP; Prof. Monowar Alam Khalid HOD Environmental Science & Dean Students’ Welfare, Integral University, Lucknow; Renu Sharma, Founder and Director Beti & Shiksha Foundation; Col Ashok Kinni, Former controller of Presidential Estate of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam; Shri. Dinesh Singh Gait, Member National Working Committee-BJP & Kisan Morcha Prabhari Haryana, Advocate Seach Paryavaran Trust Shri Hanuman Singh Palwas, Ashwini Tyagi Social Activist and many more.
Addressing the media Shri Manjeet Singh said, “We are starting this movement to preserve the purity of our environment. Through our movement we will plant more than 10 crore saplings throughout this year by traveling across108 cities of our country spanning from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Kutch to Kohima. This green yatra will also be a great opportunity for us to interact with the masses as to share our aim & mission to the common objective and a Green India.”
Speaking on The Vishwa Yagya Mahotsav Shri Manjeet Singh said, “The Mahotsav with 1, 08,000 Kundi Yagya for a period of 9 days during the month of February 2020 will take place to celebrate the culmination of the green yatra and will be a convergence of spiritual tradition and scientific approach towards a clean environment. By the early periods Yagya has been considered as one of the holiest exercises because of its scientific and cultural benefits. Havan smoke has the power to kill various bacteria’s.
Syed Zafar Islam, Spokesperson BJP appreciated the effort and said, “Plantation is very important as it maintains ecological balance & equilibrium and also helps in increasing the green cover. This movement will play a very important role towards green and sustainable development of our country and take us a step closer towards the mission of government for a cleaner environment.”
Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare also appreciated the effort and shared his views through a written message. He said, “I heartily congratulate Swachchh Paryavaran Trust for their initiative towards green environment by planting 10 cr.ore Trees across the nation. And I would like to thank you for inviting me as a guest over such auspicious occasion. I wish I could be there, but unfortunately I had to head somewhere else.”
Prof. and Scientist Dr. Monowar Alam Khalid addressed the media and shared the way forward of this magnum project of 10 crore plantation stating the importance of involvement of ministry, research organizations, academicians and common men in this movement. He also said that trees are our best friends, which give us oxygen and sequester carbon dioxide. Plantation at such massive scale will help in pollution abatement and in improving the environment.
Swachh Parayavran Trust has been striving for sustainability and more eco-friendly ventures with its efforts in the green energy field. The continued depletion of natural resources has led major initiatives such as, Mission Green India to become a wonderful learning lesson for the common man and make every one of us more environmentally aware than ever.
